We have a really great old house with wooden ceilings and cool old wood doors. The only problem with it is that it is falling apart. Boyd recently added this extra support system in the basement corner. That improvement led into the next room where he supported the door frame and wall. Each time he jacked up the ceiling to its' original height, another section needed the same help. So, Boyd just kept moving from one area to the next. This is the current construction point.
You will notice the jack holding up the ceiling and the 2X4's placed to keep things where they belong. Things weren't going too bad until he got to the end and found a rotted out 4X4.
You can see where the 4X4 should be. Boyd had to break out the cement and pour a new section raised high enough to hopefully keep it out of the moisture.
Here's hoping all Boyd's hard work is worth it. Thanks to Kelly for coming out and helping.
