Life

Love the sun in these shots.   This is my life just about every day.  Gorgeous!
Then, we have this.   It doesn't happen every day, thank goodness.  This is our new cat in a stand off with Satan.
This black cat showed up late Saturday night.  It was so friendly compared to all the strays we normally see.  It wrapped itself in and out of Boyd's ankles and purred. Boyd was nice and fed it and left it to find itself a warm spot for the night (nights that are getting down to single digits F).   When it was still outside and alive on Sunday morning, we decided it might have chosen us to be its new owners.
I can't get a good picture of it because it is too curious and likes to inspect the camera lens closely. It eats non-stop, which makes sense considering how skinny it is.  I don't know how many cockle-burrs I have cut out of it, but it is really patient with me.   We don't know the gender and it doesn't have a name, but if it is still here by Saturday we will keep it.  (Boyd gave it a week to decide.)  We will take it to the vet's and find out the gender and if we have unwisely exposed all the cats to this one's parasites and then have it fixed.   The other cats don't love it living here, but haven't fought with it.  Just a bit of hissing and howling, but no scratching and no blood.

Other than that, life is the same.   What does a new year really bring?  To me, it is just time marching on.

Magpies

The dang magpies are eating more cat food than the cat(s).
