Back at the Dog Park

It's been a long time since we could get to the dog park without wading through a muddy field covered with 2 feet or so of water.  Now all that is left is this area and it has drained down to almost nothing.

 The dog park doesn't look the same, it is a crusted old lake bed now.

 The receding water seems to have left a lot of pungent carcasses to roll around on for the dogs.

 Like I said, plenty to roll in.

And, yet again.

Where I built my summer home last year.  It would have had to be a houseboat this year!

Crop Report

Boyd has been busy watering corn the last few days.  He loves it!  He wishes he could get up at odd hours of the night to play in the water and be bit by mosquitoes every night.  Speaking of mosquitoes, he found a great deal yesterday.   He bought two cans of mosquito spray for $1028 and got twelve siphon tubes for FREE!   Yeah, great deal!  So, if you come over and need spray, plan on me charging you a small fee to cover the cost.
I was lucky enough to be invited for last night's 10:00pm change.  And, I am not being sarcastic, I don't always get invited and I like going.

A.W.O.L.

I got a call from my mom last night informing me that it had been a week since my last post.  Now, if she still lived in Ft. Wayne, I might feel bad, but she only lives three minutes from my house.   She can come on over any time if she wants to know what dismal things are happening around here!  The good news is that the posts have been sparse because nothing catastrophic has happened. 

 We've had some double rainbows.

Rainbow

The rainbow tonight was amazing.  Not especially spectacular, but amazing because it grew by the second from the south to the north.  

I took a lot of pictures.  Lucky for you all, I am only posting these.

As of Late

Lately, I have been busy working my new job.  Ummm, yeah.  When you think you have the summer off and then you go and get a job that makes you work summers and one hour more per day and drive farther each day, you simply prove what every one else knew... I'M CRAZY!!!
Besides that, here is a glimpse of what we've been up to...

Boyd finally got me over to look at how effective the new drain really is.  I didn't get what he was talking about over the many times he explained it to me.  Seeing it in action made all the difference.

 The dog park is slowly become solid ground again.  I was even able to walk to it through the field.

Not very exciting, I know.  Sometimes boring is really enjoyable!!
