Castle Rock - Labor Day

I think we like wandering around Castle Rock almost as much as the actual City of the Rocks.

 We decided to take a short hike around the front side of this rock.

 The trail started out simple enough and easy to follow.

 Then at some point it looked more like this, nothing but rocks and no certain way to go.

 It became obvious after a bit that we had made the wrong choice as our only choice was to climb down over very large rocks.  I chose the sit and slide on your bum option. :)

 We did see some amazingly cool rocks.

 And a fun little lizard.

 Also, the back side of the mountain.

 It was beautiful, a bit treacherous and took much longer than we expected!
