Yellowstone 2015 - Chief Joseph Highway

After spending the night in Cody, we headed back to Yellowstone via the Chief Joseph Highway.
It was supposed to be scenic and beautiful.
 Mostly, it was just foggy.
Foggy with chance of cows on the road.

And, the higher we climbed, the icier things became.
A video to show how foggy and cold it was on the top of the pass.   Look at this picture of the overlook that I borrowed from this site http://www.sangres.com/wyoming/scenic-byways/chief-joseph-highway.htm#.VkF4fKIZOjg  and compare it to what we could see in the video.

At some point while my husband was standing in that foggy cold mess, he tried to take out a card from his wallet to scrape the ice off and read a marker.  Well, he dropped the card and the wind took it over the edge.  It was just barely within reach as he laid on the ground and stretched his arm through the fence.

Once down the other side, we crossed what was said to be the highest bridge in Wyoming.
Neither Boyd nor I like heights.  It was very scary to get out as far as we did, which wasn't very far. :)

Apple Blossoms

Kind of past their prime, but I was glad I made it out to photograph them.
