A Week Without Sleep

Boyd has been watering one field or another for a week now.  A good chunk of the time he was watering a field at each farm simultaneously.  The first turn of the year is always the hardest because you have to shovel out the holes for the siphon tubes. For quite a few days in a row he didn't get more than a couple hours sleep at a time.  He must have been tired, because it was the first time he mentioned wanting a child.  Not a baby mind you, a nice strong teenage son he could put on the business end of a shovel and send out to change the water at 2:00 in the morning.  Here is how he looked at the end of the week long ordeal.  Not bad!
Before you can water the corn, you have to make furrows for the water to run down.
And last of all, Boyd and Buddy irrigating.  Yes, the photos are from another year (pre-overalls).
