We had talked about doing a bit of sight seeing and possibly even staying out a day longer to drive up to Blue Mountain. After a bit of discussion it just didn't see worth it, so we bagged that idea and just thought we would drive out and back without any side excursions. Turns out we stopped at the McKonkie petroglyphs, something I had never seen in all the trips we have taken to Vernal. How is it that my parents deprived me of this treasure for this long? And, my aunt Sybil? She couldn't be bothered to take me there either! :) And, both my sisters brought a change of clothes, but I didn't even bring a better pair of shoes. The video is long and you can find even better images of the petroglyphs on the links below.

After we left the McKonkie Ranch, we decided to take the "back roads" to Roosevelt. My mom pitched a fit and told us we were crazy, only to follow it up afterwards with a "Now, that was fun. I'm glad we came this way!". Honestly!! :)
