We are always happy when Boyd invites us along to check the hay to see if it is ready to bale.
Boyd checks the hay and the dogs check for mice.
It's ready, so a phone call to his cousin to line up the rake and baler is next.
I'd like to say that it was smooth sailing while raking and baling, but it would be a big fat lie. Both the rake and baler broke. The bales ended up being mushy and we had to stop hauling and fix a huge pot hole in the road. It took a load of cement chunks plus two loads of gravel to get it good enough to drive over with a loaded truck. I'm telling you, the farming fun just never ends around here.
At least we sold 50+ bales already, with 20 more spoken for.
