In the wee hours of the morning on the 7th of December, our 4th anniversary, my husband was suddenly brought to attention by the gurgling sound coming from this drain.
While laying there trying to decide what possibly might have water running, it gurgled again. Still hoping he wasn't hearing what he thought he was hearing, he listened intently. When he heard it yet again, he jumped out of bed to see what was going on. The water heater was immenent to come up and say hi to the carpeting. Fortunately, it didn't flood and eventually stopped gurgling.

P.S. This is not the first time it has made noise. On any given day, when you hear the drain bubbling while taking a shower, efficiency measures are in place to quickly finish and get out before it floods the basement.
