A Dark Drive Around the Refuge

 Boyd and I decided to take the loop around the BRMBR on January 17th.  It was dark and gloomy and stayed that way the whole time.  Photos aren't great, but the ice shelves and shards were certainly cool!

 

It's a Plane!

 Thanks to a rare Sunday UPS delivery, I heard that an airplane had landed on the freeway just east of our house. 

Chris allowed us to drive on his back road that approaches the freeway to get a closer look. Traffic was backed up for miles even though I think that earlier the plane had been pushed out of the way. By the time we arrived, they were practically ready to move the plane.

The airport is really close to where the plane landed, so it was a quick trip to the next exit and just a short route on the highway to the airport road.

Sorry for the blurry shots... I was moving, the plane was moving.
