Surprised By Deer

 One fine summer day I was stacking hay, getting it ready to be hauled, when what to my surprise...

Two huge bucks appeared right across the fence from me. 

Only iPhone photos and I had to zoom as to not spook them off. 

Cows On The Loose

Just about the time I was turning the corner and headed down the road to my home I got a call from my sister and then my husband, both telling me that we had a whole herd of cows in our front hay fields. 

It was a crazy sight for sure!   I didn't really get great photos, I was a bit busy trying to move the cows back to where they belonged.

Glad to have help from family and neighbors!

The cows FLATTENED a good stretch of the fence down below the hill.

They smashed some small fences and chomped and tromped on my hay bales, but overall they didn't do too much damage.

Later in the summer, those same cows were intentionally allowed to graze on our fields full of weeds. I intended to document their progress, but, yeah, that didn't happen.

Random - Summer 2021

 Stinky Springs had a makeover!  Definitely an improvement over the graffiti messages sprawled on the walls previously.

I don't know... when he gets himself in these tight spots, he is at least willing to ask me to bring him the needed tools.

Such huge sunflowers this year.  I need to take a photo of the one out the back door - it's massive.  This one is in the garden.

Dogs are always willing to help irrigate.

A Perfect Fall Day

 Finally, a non-windy, fall weather evening.  Boyd made a campfire, mom and Laura came for a walk and it was a good day off of work.   I would most definitely vote for more days like today.  The sunset was fitting and even included a bit of fog rolling in from the west.
