Smoky Skies

Luckily, the skies have now cleared for the most part.
It was pretty tough to breathe for a week.
But, it did make for interesting light.

Idaho Farmland 2

Just more of the same.
Plus a couple of historical sites.
And,  they don't look too bad considering that most of the images from both posts were taken out of the window of a moving truck.

Idaho Farm Scenes

Same trip to Bear Lake.
Took the circuitous route through Downey and Preston and a million other small towns.
Saw so many fields being worked.
Beautiful skies!
Wish we had those skies now.
Choking on the smokey, fire-laden skies we've had lately.
Guess I should just be glad we aren't on fire.
Unless you count neighboring grain fields, and then, we are too.

Never noticed all the water pipelines on previous trips.
 Road construction.

 But, no workers.
Looks like a fun place to teach.  Right on the edge of the hill/cliff.  Lawsuit waiting to happen now-a-days.

Ovid Dream House

Near the junction between Ovid & Montpelier and on the way to Bear Lake stands this house or church or school, not sure what it used to be.

It is one of the few things Boyd and I agree on.  We both want to buy it and live here.
 Wouldn't it be absolutely amazing!?!
Nice picket fence out front.  Hay on the sides.  Goats grazing the weeds.  Hollyhocks and Sweet Peas growing on either side of the front steps.
Dogs of course, a few cats and maybe a cow or horse.
And, if we lived that close to Bear Lake, maybe even a boat and some jet skis!
Or maybe just two nice big rocking chairs out front!

Bear Lake 2015

We managed to squeeze in one day at Bear Lake before summer ended.
It turned out to be a beautiful day!
And, pretty much a WHOLE BUNCH of other people agreed.
The north end was one vehicle parked right next to the other the whole length of the beach.
We always go to the east side.
We can't ever get our favorite spot any more, but we get a decent spot just past the boat ramp.
It is fun to watch the people load and unload.
Our beach was rocky, but mostly empty... just how we like it.
Once you got out in the water about waist deep, the rocks ended and it was nice and sandy.
We spent some time in the water and some time in the sun.
Gorgeous skies and beautiful blue water.
We stopped at the over look at the top as we left the lake.
